DRAIS TURBULENT-DRYER

IN THE

PHARMACEUTICAL, FINE-CHEMICAL AND FOOD INDUSTRY

Turbulent Dryer

The horizontal, unilaterally supported DRAIS Dryer of the type Turbulent Dryer®
TD-…E (E = unilateral bearing) offers convincing advantages for the application in the pharmaceutical, fine chemical and food industry. This machine type excels by its excellent GMP- and CIP-suitable design, and offers moreover considerable advantages as compared to a two sides supported machine:

  • one shaft passage only
  • good inspection feasibility of product contacting parts
  • easy disassembly of the shaft seal for maintenance works
  • fast cleaning for product changes due to hingeable side wall
  • drying under vacuum at < 50 mbar
  • strict separation between product and drive area

Moreover, the requirements of the pharmaceutical and food industry have been realized comprehensively:

  • flush fitting installation
  • constructive design of the sealing seats, especially for CIP cleaning
  • polished surfaces (grain 240, electrochemical)
  • breaking up of hardened agglomerates by homogenizers

All DRAIS Vacuum Paddle Dryers (unilaterally or bilaterally supported) are equipped with a turbulent paddle-type mixing mechanism which guarantees excellent mixing results. Other important advantages are the large heat exchange surface as well as the possibility of adding liquids for granulation purposes.

The Vacuum Paddle Dryers are designed in all commercial stainless steels and special alloys (1.4571, 1.4539, Hastelloy C22, C4, and others) and may be equipped with DRAIS micro-dust vapor filters of the well-known quality.

The unilaterally supported DRAIS T-Dry® is available in sizes ranging from 5 to 1600 liters, suitable for temperatures up to 300 °C, as DRAIS All In One Reactor® up to an overpressure of 64 bar, and as conventional DRAIS T-Mix®.
